1. Overview
ClipNotes is an Android application provided by Just Vibe LLC that helps users capture, scan, organize, and save information from notes, photos, QR codes, receipts, signs, and business cards. This Privacy Policy explains how ClipNotes handles information when you use the app.
2. Information Stored on Your Device
ClipNotes is designed primarily as an on-device utility. Notes, saved links, scanned receipts, saved signs, saved cards, reminder settings, OCR text, and associated image copies are stored locally in the app's private storage and local database on your Android device unless a feature explicitly sends information to a third-party service. ClipNotes does not currently require a ClipNotes account or Just Vibe LLC cloud account to use its core features.
3. Camera and Photo Access
ClipNotes may request camera access when you choose to scan a note, QR code, receipt, sign, or business card. When you choose Import Photo, ClipNotes uses Android's system photo picker so you can select specific images. The app does not need broad access to your entire photo library for this feature. For saved notes, receipts, signs, and cards, ClipNotes may create a private local copy of the image so the saved record continues to work if the original gallery image is moved or deleted.
4. OCR and Content Processing
ClipNotes uses on-device text recognition to extract text from images. OCR results may include names, phone numbers, email addresses, website addresses, dates, prices, business information, or other text visible in the image you choose to scan. OCR results can be inaccurate. Users should review important information before relying on it.
5. QR Codes, Links, and External Apps
When you scan or import a QR code, ClipNotes may decode its contents. If a QR code contains a web address, the app shows the address and lets you decide whether to open or save it. External links are opened using your device's browser or another compatible app. ClipNotes does not control the privacy practices of third-party websites or apps.
6. Business Cards and Contacts
Card scanning may extract contact details such as a person's name, company, job title, phone number, email address, website, and address. If you select Add to Contacts, ClipNotes opens Android's contact-creation interface with available fields pre-filled. You review and confirm the contact in the system Contacts app. ClipNotes does not need to read your existing address book for this workflow.
7. Receipt Reminders and Notifications
If you enable a custom reminder for a saved receipt, ClipNotes stores the selected reminder date locally and uses Android background scheduling to request a local notification. On supported Android versions, notification permission may be requested. Reminder delivery can be delayed or suppressed by Android system settings, battery optimization, app hibernation, or device conditions.
8. Advertising and Google AdMob
ClipNotes is supported by banner advertising through Google AdMob / Google Mobile Ads SDK. Google and its advertising partners may automatically collect or receive information such as IP address, device and advertising identifiers, product interactions, diagnostics, and other information used to provide, measure, personalize where permitted, and protect advertising. Consent choices may be presented through Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) where required. ClipNotes provides a Privacy Choices entry point when Google indicates that one is required. Google's handling of advertising data is governed by Google's applicable policies.
9. Android Permissions
Depending on the features you use, ClipNotes may request camera permission and notification permission. Photo selection is handled through Android's system photo picker where available. ClipNotes only requests permissions needed for the feature you choose to use.
11. Data Retention and Deletion
ClipNotes local content remains on your device until you delete the relevant item, clear the app's storage, or uninstall the app, subject to Android and device backup behavior. Depending on your Android or manufacturer backup settings, eligible app data may be included in device backups. Data collected by third-party advertising services is retained according to those providers' own policies.
12. Security
ClipNotes uses Android application storage and platform security features to help protect locally stored information. No method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure, and Just Vibe LLC cannot guarantee absolute security.
13. Children's Privacy
ClipNotes is a general productivity application and is not directed to children under 13. If Just Vibe LLC learns that personal information was collected in violation of applicable children's privacy law, appropriate steps will be taken consistent with legal obligations.
14. Changes to This Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated as ClipNotes changes, legal requirements evolve, or third-party services change. The effective date shown on this page will be updated when revisions are published.
