PolicyPeek is a browser extension provided by Just Vibe LLC (“Just Vibe,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). PolicyPeek is designed to identify, analyze, summarize, and monitor website Privacy Policies and Terms of Service.
PolicyPeek processes information needed to provide these features primarily locally within your browser.
Just Vibe LLC does not sell your personal information, browsing history, or website content.
2. Information PolicyPeek Processes
To provide its features, PolicyPeek may process the following information.
Website and Browsing Information
PolicyPeek may access:
- The URL and domain of the website currently being analyzed
- The title of the webpage
- Links contained on the webpage that may lead to a Privacy Policy or Terms of Service
- URLs of detected Privacy Policy and Terms of Service pages
This information is used only to determine which website is being analyzed and to locate relevant policy documents.
Website Content
PolicyPeek may access and process:
- Privacy Policy text
- Terms of Service text
- Links to legal or policy pages
- Relevant portions of webpage content needed to locate these documents
This information is used to generate policy summaries, identify important clauses, provide PolicyPeek scores and intelligence, answer questions through features such as Ask Policy and Ask Terms, and detect changes to policies when the user enables monitoring.
3. Local Processing
The current version of PolicyPeek performs its policy analysis and related processing locally within the user's browser.
PolicyPeek does not transmit users' browsing history, detected policy text, or PolicyPeek questions to Just Vibe LLC servers for analysis.
Information stored by the extension may include:
- Policy analysis results
- Policy summaries and scores
- Policy document fingerprints used to detect changes
- Extracted policy indexes used by Ask Policy and Ask Terms
- Websites the user has chosen to monitor for policy changes
- Policy change history
- Light or dark theme preference
This information is stored locally using browser extension storage.
4. Information We Do Not Collect
The current version of PolicyPeek does not intentionally collect:
- Names
- Email addresses
- Physical addresses
- Phone numbers
- Passwords or authentication credentials
- Financial or payment information
- Health information
- Personal communications such as emails or text messages
- Precise geographic location
- Keystrokes
- Mouse movements
- Advertising identifiers
PolicyPeek does not use browsing information for advertising, profiling, or tracking users across websites.
5. Policy Monitoring and Notifications
PolicyPeek allows users to choose to monitor a website for changes to its Privacy Policy or Terms of Service.
If you enable this feature, PolicyPeek may periodically re-check the policy pages associated with that website and compare them with previously analyzed versions.
If PolicyPeek detects a change, it may display a browser notification. Monitoring information and previous policy information are stored locally within the browser.
6. Browser Permissions
PolicyPeek requests certain browser permissions only when necessary to provide its features.
Storage
The storage permission is used to save PolicyPeek settings, policy analysis results, policy indexes, policy version information, monitoring preferences, and theme preferences locally in the browser.
Alarms
The alarms permission is used to periodically check websites that the user has specifically chosen to monitor for policy changes.
Notifications
The notifications permission is used to alert users when PolicyPeek detects a change to a monitored Privacy Policy or Terms of Service.
Website Access
PolicyPeek requires access to websites so that it can identify Privacy Policy and Terms of Service links and retrieve those documents for analysis. Website access is used only for functionality related to PolicyPeek's policy-analysis features.
8. Data Retention
PolicyPeek may retain policy analysis results, policy indexes, policy version information, monitoring settings, and other extension preferences locally in the user's browser.
Users may remove locally stored PolicyPeek information by removing the extension or clearing the extension's stored data through their browser.
Just Vibe LLC does not maintain a server-side database of users' PolicyPeek browsing histories in the current version of the extension.
9. Security
We design PolicyPeek to minimize unnecessary collection and transmission of information.
Because the current version performs its primary analysis locally within the user's browser, policy information does not need to be transmitted to Just Vibe LLC for normal policy analysis.
However, no software or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
10. Third-Party Websites
PolicyPeek analyzes content published by third-party websites.
Just Vibe LLC does not control the privacy, security, availability, or accuracy of third-party websites or their policies. Links opened through PolicyPeek are governed by the privacy practices and terms of the applicable third party.
11. Children
PolicyPeek is not designed to knowingly collect personal information from children.
The extension analyzes publicly available website policy content and does not require users to create an account in its current version.
12. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as PolicyPeek changes.
If future versions of PolicyPeek introduce materially different data practices, including server-side processing or additional categories of information, this Privacy Policy will be updated accordingly.
The effective date at the top of this Privacy Policy indicates when it was most recently updated.
